Good Dees?
Short Sermon by: Hamir "The Storyteller" Achacoso
"8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God 9 not by works, so that no one can boast."
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)
Some people do good things, attend a church service, gives tithe, read or memorize the bible, because of the fear that God may send them to hell if they do not do or obey these things.
Some people also do good deeds because they believe that doing these things might help them gain their ultimate price the heaven.
I remember a story when I was in the seminary. The semester is almost done and I need to settle my school account that is about $1700 (more or less). I do not have the money yet and I am still waiting for my school funds. One day I got a phone call from the school registrar asking me to report in her office as soon as possible. I wrote a promissory letter saying that I will pay as soon as I got my funds. I was reluctant and I do not want to go to her office. I told my self to wait a little more for my school funds. I went to the cashier's / registrar office armed with the promissory letter and faith in God. I gave the promissory letter to the registrar and told her that I will pay and settle my account as soon as I got my school funds. She smiled gave me back my promissory letter and hand me a $200. I was puzzled about the money and why she gave me back my promissory letter? I gave her back the promissory letter and the money and told her again that I will pay as soon as I got my school funds. She said that paying the school and the promissory letter is unnecessary because somebody (who is anonymous) already paid my bills. I was shocked. I asked her about the $200? She said it's my change.

My promissory letter is unnecessary because I do not have credit anymore. Paying again is worthless because my account is already settled. Somebody paid it for me. Yes, an anonymous friend paid the bills for me.
Remember that Grace paid the price and paying again is unnecessary.
May you see that He paid the price for you. May you understand that the good deeds is fruit of your salvation and not a payment for it. May you be a blessing to other people and may you be an answer to their questions. May you acknowledge that Jesus paid the price for you. May you see the real meaning of Easter Sunday. He is RISEN. God bless you more
