Salt and Light What?
- a Short Sermon by: Hamir "The Storyteller" Achacoso
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)
Recently I am getting in love in cooking. I cook whatever is in the fridge. I like to experiment in my cooking. I do not limit my creativity even with limited ingredients. I mix and match, take one ingredient and put another ingredient. Just pure experimentation and I enjoy it. I can take anything out but not the salt. Can you imagine your food without any salt? People right away notice if you put too much or less salt in your food. Salt is important in cooking. Salt is necessary.
Who does not want light? Imagine an iPhone, Computer without back light? Can you still read this blog without a back light from your phone, laptop or LCD monitor? Can you read in total darkness? Can you work in total darkness? Light is a necessity for all of us. Fishermen use the light to attract fish. Taking away light is noticeable. We all notice if somebody turns off the light.
